The great grey owl is the king of stealth. They fly in complete silence, and hunt in the dying hours of the day. This makes them incredibly difficult to find. By chance. I came across this bird while hiking through the woods one evening. It was perched a mere 10 feet away from me. When we locked eyes, it was like staring at a ghost. There are some animals so wild and unbridled that I believe it is impossible to relate to them in full. The intricacies of this creature's life are only known by the forest itself, and I'm okay with that.
